Date
This year the date of the race will be Saturday, October 11. A little later than last year, but then it should be perfect running weather
Limited entry
Because of the trail, we will be limiting this race to the first 50 entrants only. There is some concern on the part of wildlife officials that 50 runners on that trail may have an adverse impact on the wildlife that live on the mountainside. There may be wildlife official at the race to monitor this effect. You can show up on race day and hope that there's a few spots left, but I'd prefer to get your entry ahead of time.
Course
This race will take place on the Frary Peak Hiking Trail. This is a trail that starts at about 4500' and climbs another 1900' in about three miles. The trail actually goes to the top of Frary Peak, the highest point on Antelope Island. However, the race will turn around at the radio repeater about ¼ mile from the summit. You would have to have a death wish to want to race down from the actual peak. So to recap, go uphill for three miles, turn around and go downhill for three miles. The trail will be open to hikers so make sure you dodge them. This race is guaranteed to not be a PR for anyone unless you did it last year.
We'll have a map posted to the site sometime soon.
